Chamber Opera

2021

This about the character and corporate logo of Aunt Jemima. Written in collaboration with librettist June Carryl, this opera will explore the history of this divisive character and ask questions about her place in American society today. This opera has been written for Overtone Industries' inaugural "Original Visions" program.

It focuses on Nancy Green, the first woman to take on the role for the pancake company, was written for their May 2021 film premiere on YouTube.
