Jason Barabba

Welcome! I hope this site provides all the info that you might need to get to know me and my work a little better. I'm a composer in Los Angeles, working in the non-profit arts world in addition to writing music. My works page here includes all the pieces you can buy online for instant .pdf download. All at incredibly reasonable prices! If you have any questions about that stuff, please ask!

2021 is definitely a year of changes for me. I've left my beloved Los Angeles to go out into the world and see what else is out there. I'm re-focused on composition, with the premiere of a first scene from Untitled Aunt Jemima Opera (a collaboration with the incredible author/actor/director June carryl) being released by Overtone Industries on film in May. I'm also working on setting June's play "The Life and Death Of" for solo voice and strings. Almost completed is an opera on Melville's short story Bartleby the Scrivener. It's mostly done!

As always, please feel free to contact me at [email protected] if you have questions or want to talk about projects we can create together. I love working with new people and seeing what we can do. Send me a note and we'll talk!

Live performance of Five Oh Won See 3, for baritone singer and two boomwhackerists. This piece commemorated Synchromy's designation as a 501c3 charitable organization, and uses the official text of the IRS letter. It would be a great piece for any new non-profit looking to ask for donations! Baritone Scott Graff is joined by Aron Kallay and Nick Terry.
